Axxess Events, Betting Power the WWE Fan Experience in 2019
WWE is rebranding SummerSlam Axxess this year as SummerSlam Meet & Greet.

The WWE knows how to throw down when it comes to showing pro wrestling fans a great time.
Maybe that’s why we’re collectively known as the WWE Universe. We’re more than just spectators. We’re a diehard legion in the same orbit as our favorite WWE personalities, living and dying with each match and every twist in the storyline.
This is not a coincidence. The WWE throws massive money and resources into creating the best possible experience for fans.
Let’s check out how the WWE is amping up fan engagement in 2019 with a new face to the SummerSlam fan convention, and yes, sports betting.
Axxess Conventions
The WWE has created memorable out-of-ring events for fans for as long as we can remember. No other sport struts out the stars at conventions and special events at the same level.
In fact, other pro sports vying for fan engagement should take notes. The experiences curated by the WWE are as masterfully executed as the matches themselves.
The two biggest fan-centric events on the annual calendar are WrestleMania Axxess and SummerSlam Axxess. These are conventions that coincide with the dates and locations of WrestleMania (March or April) and SummerSlam (August) respectively.
Both conventions run for multiple-days, giving the WWE Universe ample time to absorb every ounce of the festivities. During Axxess conventions, fans attend meet and greet sessions with current and former WWE talent, autograph signings, exclusive interviews, and check out memorabilia displays.
Since 2013, WrestleMania Axxess has included the unveiling of a bronze statue to honor a selected member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
The WWE is rebranding SummerSlam Axxess this year as SummerSlam Meet & Greet. The ethos of the three-day pro-wrestling celebration will be the same as in previous years but with even more chances for the WWE Universe to engage.
Kofi Kingston, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles are just a few of the headline stars scheduled to appear at the Meet & Greet when SummerSlam rolls into Toronto.
The first-ever SummerSlam Superstore promises to be a highlight of the convention. This pop-up shop will feature a wide range of SummerSlam goodies including apparel and Championship titles.
The 2019 SummerSlam Meet & Greet takes place Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Sports Betting With WWE
While it may be hard to believe, fans can actually bet on WWE matches, tournaments, and season championships. We think this is a pretty darn awesome development. Is it possible to get any closer to the action than literally throwing money in the ring?
WWE betting is a rather new offering at some online sportsbooks. And it looks to be gaining traction as more states move to allow full scale sports betting.
Because every outcome and narrative twist in WWE is a closely guarded secret by the select few who know in advance, i.e., not the viewing public, betting odds apply here just as they do in unscripted sports.
What’s really great is that WWE is a very small player at sportsbooks compared to other sports like football, basketball, and international soccer. The odds on WWE aren’t quite as bulletproof as sports that receive more total wagers. This makes it possible for fans to find a generous amount of value bets.
Checking for special incentives when you wager on WWE events is another way to get the most betting bang for your buck. Some sportsbooks and odds providers offer bonuses like matching deposits and free plays.
Considering the WWE has operations in 180 countries, there are millions of diverse fans to connect. And we think this global powerhouse of sports and entertainment is doing a bang up job. Bigger and better Axxess conventions and the availability of WWE betting are just two platforms driving fan experience in 2019. As a member of the WWE Universe, what’s your favorite way to engage with the sport?
